Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to describe the meaning of the experience of nursing student’s clinical practice in comprehensive nursing care service ward. This is a descriptive phenomenological study that included ten participants using convenience sampling in universities in Seoul and Gunsan. Data saturation was achieved and methodological rigor was established. Colaizzi’s data analysis method was used to inductively determine themes and formulate meanings. The three main themes derived from analysis were: “requiring modified circumstance,” “focusing on nursing care,” and “learning opportunity.” Nursing student has experienced self-confidence in the relationship with patients and patient-centered nursing care during clinical practice in comprehensive nursing care service ward. Thus, it has contributed good nursing professional values to nursing student. Further study is required to develop strategies to conduct efficiently nursing student’s clinical practice in comprehensive nursing care service ward.
